FAYETTEVILLE CHURCH OF CHRIST

SHARE HOPE. SHARE LOVE. SHARE JESUS.

That is the mission of Fayetteville Church of Christ, and they wanted their new branding to communicate their desire to be a light for Jesus in the Fayetteville community.

The Goal

Fayetteville Church of Christ did not have a logo or consistent branding. They decided to invest in a brand identity with Biaka Works in order to have meaningful design they could leverage as they continue to grow both in the community and in their social media presence. Their church is located in a college town, and they seek to be a welcoming light and place of comfort for all who might need one (especially young adults and college students).

The Discovery

Every Brand Identity package with Biaka Works begins with the crucial Discovery Phase. We firmly believe that your business or organization already has a unique brand, and it’s our job to ask the best questions and work with you to discover and verbalize your one-of-a-kind identity.

When asked what makes their church unique, and what their members love about their church family, they said,

“Our church is very small and very personable. We have members from many different walks of life, but what everyone seems to love is that despite growing we continue to maintain the family feel. Everyone genuinely cares for everyone else. There is a very strong feeling of authenticity in our congregation. We don’t pretend to have it all figured out. We all recognize that we are pilgrims on a journey and are learning, growing, and being challenged every day. That journey is made easier when you have a solid support group around you.”

Fayetteville Church of Christ described their congregation as warm, friendly, loving, and personable.

The Design

Most of their building interior features shades of blue, so they wanted to stick with blue as their main brand color. They wanted clean and modern typography, and a logo that would be optimized for use on social media and print collateral.

We chose an inviting color palette of light blue, gold, and charcoal. Fayetteville Church of Christ’s repeated desire to be a light in their community made yellow an obvious and fitting choice for their brand accent color.

“As Christians we are to be a light and a reflection of Jesus and as we interact with the people and community around us. They should see and feel Jesus through us. Sometimes we may be the only sight into Christ that they have in their lives. When they look at Jesus through us, what kind of Christ are they seeing? When people see our members and our branding we want them to feel connected to that warmth, light, and authenticity.”

When designing their icon, Avery, our Lead Designer, wanted to combine the idea of being a light in the community with the purpose of displaying Jesus to others. The cross illustration in the lightbulb filament is subtle, yet impactful. It conveys the purpose of Fayetteville Church of Christ without being cheesy or generic. This totally custom icon was crafted to meet the unique identity of their church, and it will be an excellent conversation starter for their members wherever it is used.
